The Stilletto Award

Who doesn't love a little bloggy love? Recently I was nominated for The Stilletto Award I was nominated for The Stilletto Award by Jackie at 3 Little Ones Thanks a million Jackie! And due to all of the craziness around here I have been working on this post for over a week now and I am finally hitting the publish button. So I hope you all enjoy , you all deserve it.

What is a Stiletto Award???

There are thousands of blogs, and there are hundreds of awards. The Stiletto Award is a little different than most!

First, to understand, let us understand the Stiletto… some words that describe it…
Classy – Strong -Exotic – Demure – Extreme – Ultra – Sexy - Bold – Funky

“Walking in extremely high heels is not something that the average woman (or man) will need to do in their everyday life.
However, there are times when this skill may be required.”

AND… what is a “blogger”? According to Dictionary.com the official definition is:
Blogger: One who writes entries in, adds material to, or maintains a weblog

However, I think there is a LOT more to it than that. My definition of a blogger…
Blogger: A strong, confident woman who has a full life. Because of the nature of her existence, she seeks connection and companionship with others who understand and wish to support her. She gains strength and courage from the experiences of these woman and shares her story in return. Through the “blog world” she develops relationships with women she would otherwise never meet and builds a community of cherished friends with whom she shares her life, experiences, challenges, failures, triumphs, goals, family and so much more! She IS Classy, Strong, Exotic, Demure, Extreme, Ultra, Sexy, Bold and Funky!

“To walk gracefully in high heels, take short steps, as opposed to long strides, and come down in a heel-toe, heel-toe motion.”

Hence, the Stiletto Award…For Excellence in Blogging!
I want to salute the women who balance life, family & relationships with style & class! Those women who share their experiences with us…who encourage us, inspire us, teach us, make us laugh and basically keep us going! You know who they are! While you read this blog, your family is looking at you wondering what the heck you are laughing about so hard…or why the tissue is necessary for internet browsing. It’s the one that the kids are excited about cuz a new post means a new craft project or family outing. The one that inspires you to be a better mom, friend, person in general. The one that reminds you that we are all “in this life together” and you’re not the only one going through the hard stuff. The one that you secretly wish your blog was like…

“It is good to get into the habit of doing the warm-up and cool-down exercises every time you wear them.”

If you’ve received this award, someone out there thinks you deserve it! Be proud! Display the badge with honor! You earned it…after all it means that you brought something special to at least one other person, and really, isn’t that what life’s all about????

“Under no circumstances drive a car with your heels on. Not only do you have less control over the car, but it will damage your shoes – and they aren’t cheap at this height. Keep spare shoes in the car for driving, or have someone drive you.”

THE RULES!
This blog is meant to be shared, to be given out, to be bestowed upon any and ALL women who exemplify what the stiletto represents. If you’ve received this award, here’s what you do:

1. Display your Stiletto Badge of Honor on your sidebar! Wear it with pride…

“Heels this high are not meant for clubbing or walking long distances in. They are mainly used for getting from the living room to the bedroom, from the car to the restaurant, or for a short stroll along the catwalk.”

2. BRAG ABOUT IT! -write a post about your award.
3. SAY THANKS! - include a link to the friend who nominated you for the award.
4. SHARE THE LOVE! -nominate 5-10 blogs that you feel deserve the award. Include links to them in your post -and- leave them a comment to let them know they are nominated. 5. DO WHAT YOU DO! -keep at it. Keep inspiring and encouraging and sharing your life! We love it and we thank you!!!

Here are my nominations for the Stiletto Award:

Holy Crap Balls You've Got to Be Kidding Me!!!

Ok so here's the deal, yesterday I posted a thing on what I Meant to Say about Hub's back pain - well now I feel like crap. He got home about 4:00 yesterday in so much pain that he could hardly stand up. He ended up having to go to the hospital and was admitted. My Bestie Amanda took him cause 1 she's all medical and 2 he won't give her any crap and 3 my migrane was in overdrive and 4 we didn't want the kids freaking out and 5 I can't sleep in the daytime and she can so we decided we would swap out So I got here about 7:45 this morning so she could go home and get some sleep. She spent all night taking notes for me so I would know what was going on because hubs can take a baby aspirin and be walking around behind little animals. Now keep in mind we are both very worried about him so even though what you are going to read is very hysterical we really do love him very much.
I also posted a thing about how amazing my bff Amanda is and the following post is written by her and going to explain to you why I feel this way.

AMANDAS NOTES FROM HOSPITAL :

To the best of my knowledge and note taking skills, this is a record
of last night. I kept it so you would know what went on when you
weren't here in case you needed to know during the day. Hope it helps.
Love you.

Angela is e.r. Nurse. Excellent!!!

0015 - 171/98

0030 - 188/105
Everytime the BP cuff goes off roy jumps.

0045 - 183/109

0100 - 188/101

0115 - 168/109
Keeping for observation - RN just came in and told us

0145 - 177/101
Mg drip

0200 - 174/102
Another BP pill

0215 - 181/103
At this point I totally realize that roy has restless leg syndrome.
Totally. And apparently his nose is itching. Big G he snores like a
freaking bear. And may have sleep apnea. AND this f'ing keyboard is
small.

OMG the hottest guy just came in to check the soiled linen bin. Sweet
baby jesus. How the dirty rag boy was hot?!?

I almost dozed off and then this happened...
0230 - 170/109
Damned two thirty!! Damned bell!!!

I think I may go walk around a bit. But I am afraid they will come get
him when I'm gone. Piss. The damned bell keeps going off. I'm gonna
cut someone soon if they don't stop it!!

0245 - 168/108
Sweet baby Jesus... Roy just tried to itch his balls and must have
pulled the cath a bit. He just yelped like a little girl IN HIS SLEEP!
Oh wow. This is entertaining.

RN just came in: Hopefully upstairs in the next hour. He can have
pain meds every four hours. He HAS to have an MRI!! Tell the docs to
sedate him. Thoracic and lumbar. Not an open one. Must be closed. It's
a different picture. And without it he will keep returning until they
can do one and see what is wrong. BP meds three times a day. And
bloodwork drawn every eight hours. So far those are the instructions
leaving the e.r. I'm sure we will get more right before we leave and
head upstairs.

Ok I know roy is hungry but all I can think right now is I really wish
u would meet me for breakfast in the a.m. I am a tad hungry and I can
only imagine what it will be like in the morning.

0300 - 174/109
I need coffee!!

There is a guy that works in the e.r. that I may or may not have had
intimate relations with, in or around my senior year. Just sayin.

I need a fingernail file.

And he totally has sleep apnea. Really. He has to.

Well he is only mildly shaking now.

Holy restless limb syndrome!! His whole body is moving! No wonder you
wake up feeling beat up. He's like a german jumping bean. Craziness.

0315 - 169/106
How can he sleep through the BP cuff you ask? Heavy doses of the good
stuff I say!

He just woke up and asked me what were we talking about. LOL. I told
him we were talking about making snowmen.

Giving meds lopressor in I.V. For high blood pressure.

T315 or C315 (they may say either one) take the elevators in the e.r.
Lobby

He is not really putting out enough urine to make them happy.

0330 - this one doesn't count. She was taking out his cath. It was sky
high!! Hahahaha.

0345 - 175/115
182/108

I just saw Roys hoo hoo. Great. He was trying to get his drawers on. I
am now blind. Oh. And he puked. In the elevator. Awesome. Thank Big G
he had a bucket.

We are now in the new room. It's nice.
He just farted the fart to end all farts. Awesome. They did put the nasal cannula on
with O2.

He is going back to bed. I think I may try to take a nap.

Hehe he keeps asking me questions. What did I say? How many of those
did I get? When did I get back? Lots of drug conversations happening.

Kristi is the charge nurse. VERY nice. Must put her name on survey.
Very very awesome.

0415 - temp 97 BP 162/112 in R arm. 156/111 L arm.

Why do they not have a comfy reclining type chair in hospital rooms.
My ass is going to fall off.

0500 - Just pulled out the bed. Woo hoo.

And...didn't sleep. Woo hoo.

0600 -
Adovan will be available for MRI.

If BP is still up when Dr. Thornhill gets here they will try some oral
and I.V. Meds.

Bring his living will up here if you can. He thinks it's in the gun
safe. He said to keep the priest away he doesn't wanna be jinxed. LOL.

MAKE him call a nurse when he gets up!!! He will fall. He needs a
nurse to help. NOT family.

Dr. Thornhill rounds either early a.m. or late late evening.

0700 - clonadine oral / dalotid I.V.

Rebecca is day nurse.

0715 - labs drawn. BMP CBC. Roy took his nasal cannula off. Just
lettin u know.

0730 - gave him a sprite. I need a beer. She said she didn't have any.
Stupid hospital. BP 160/99 the BP girl is hot. I'm sure he will say
something when he's more coherant.

Just a warning: he's getting all hooberdoo'd about the MRI. He has to
do it. HAS TO. So get ready. Just sayin. Oh and I told the nurses to
make sure he does not give you a hard time.

Stephanie:
I love you. And wouldn't know what to do without you. I am and always
will be here for you. I am sorry all this crap is happening all at
once with everything. I will go home and sleep. You call me when you
need/want me back up here. I will come back tonight. You can't sleep
during the day and there is no reason for you to be up all day and up
here all night when you can't sleep at daytime. I don't mind.

It's what we do.

P. S. I may have iPhone elbow now. And my thumb might possibly fall
OFF. Just sayin.

Ok so that is what happened up until 7:00 this morning. Thank the Big G for Amazing friends. So far he is still about the same. His blood pressure is still the same. He had the MRI with the Adavan made it 15 min before the freak out but he made it through, he just got back to the room and the sweet nurse just gave him some more drugs. Thank the Big G for good Drugs!

Thankful Thursday

I want to dedicate my Thankful Thursday Post to my Bestie you can find her over at Loco Yaya's.

Amanda and I met each other a little over 11 years ago. It was hate at first site. We were polar opposites, but the funny thing about both of us is we decided to get to know each other just to aggravate one another. It was crazy. After a very short time we found out that we were each others best friend soul mates. We have been through so much together. We now share our fab 5 kids, our lives, our ideas, the good times and the bad. No matter what happens we have each others backs. We laugh a lot, we cry occasionally. We dream big, we plan and we hope for the best. Our kids will be the first to tell you they have two moms, they always know that they have back up when one of us is not around. We have pulled each other through some pretty tough times and right now we are both going through a lot but we are getting through it together. So today I am thankful for the day I met the person that has gotten me through some of the best and worst times of my life. I am thankful for having someone to laugh with, to cry with, to scream with. I am thankful for having someone that is loving and looking after my kids just as much as I am. I am thankful for being one of the few lucky people in this world that found my Best Friend Soul Mate!

What I Meant to Say

Finally it's Wednesday, I've been looking forward to this one for a little while you see there's been a lot going on lately and I've been trying to take the high road but I'm pretty much about to bust so when I came across Chiefs' What I Meant to Say Wednesday I knew I couldn't pass it up this week so here it goes. So if you have something that you meant to say by all means hop on over to her blog and link up and join in and get it off your chest!

"You Know Who You Are" When I said I wasn't really that bothered by the fact that a so called "friend" blew up and accused me of being a lying backstabber.

What I meant to say was: You know me better than that. I am the one person that you can tell anything to and I would never turn on you. Keep in mind that regardless of the fact that you decided to attack me for something that I did not do, when you need me I will still be there for you because that is the kind of person I am. But I do appreciate the fact that you did give me the opportunity to see your true colors. I just want to take this opportunity to let you know that I am not nearly as much of a push over as everyone thinks I am and there is only so much that I will take.

"Hubs" When I said that I was more than happy to rub your back and wait on you hand and foot while you recover from your back injury which I am sure is quite painful.

What I meant to say was : Look I know your in pain, I get it. I have been in pain for 12 years and never mind I have a migrane and a brain tumor and if you get cranky with me one more time there is a very good chance that your backache is going to be the least of your worries.

"Kids" When I said I know you guys aren't feeling well so I'm going to let you stay home today and rest up.

What I meant to say was : Are you freaking kidding me I need one day where all of you are in school and no one but me is at home, if your well enough to destroy the house, eat all the cookies and jump on the beds you are well enough to go to school!

Ash Wednesday - Vegetable Lasagna

Ash Wednesday is the day Lent begins. It occurs forty days before Good Friday. The official name of Ash Wednesday is “Day of Ashes.” The reason the day became known as Ash Wednesday is that it is forty days before Good Friday, so it will always fall on a Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday is also a typical day for fasting in many Christian sects. This is most common in Catholicism. People may abstain from any food prior to attending the Ash Wednesday service, and generally abstain from meat for the rest of the day.

I have been looking for a meatless dish that would still be filling and that the kids would love and remembered that I used to make a Vegetable Lasagna that everyone enjoyed. Here is my favorite recipe I hope you all love it!

Vegetable Lasagna

Ingredients
12 lasagna noodles
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 heads fresh broccoli, chopped
2 carrots, thinly sliced
1 large onion, chopped
2 green bell peppers, chopped
2 small zucchini, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups milk
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, divided
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
1 (8 ounce) container small curd cottage cheese
24 ounces ricotta cheese
2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Directions
1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.

2.Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add lasagna noodles and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

3.Heat oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat. When oil is hot add broccoli, carrots, onions, bell peppers, zucchini and garlic. Saute for 7 minutes; set aside.

4.Place flour in a medium saucepan and gradually whisk in milk until well blended. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook 5 minutes, or until thick, stirring constantly. Stir in 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper; cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in spinach. Reserve 1/2 cup spinach mixture. In a small bowl combine cottage and ricotta cheeses; stir well.

5.Spread about 1/2 cup of spinach mixture in the bottom of the prepared pan. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, vegetables, spinach mixture and 2 cups mozzarella cheese, ending with noodles. Top with reserved spinach mixture, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese.

6.Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until lightly browned on top. Cool for approximately 10 minutes before serving.

Fat Tuesday - Creole Jambalya and Beignets

Fat Tuesday, is the culmination of the season between Christmas and Lent. Fat Tuesday falls on the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. During the 46-day Lent period, many Christians forgo the eating of meat, either completely or on Fridays. Traditionally a favored food, drink, or habit is given up. Some give up Sodas, Alcohol, Smoking, Cursing, Shopping and numerous other things that go unmentioned. Fat Tuesday is a last chance party excuse before a six-week period of abstinence. Here is a copy of one of my favorite recipes from Taste of Home.

Creole Jambalaya

8 ServingsPrep: 20 min. Cook: 35 min.Ingredients
3/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (10-1/2 ounces) condensed beef broth, undiluted
1 cup uncooked long grain white rice
1 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 pounds fresh or frozen uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

Directions
In a Dutch oven, saute the onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender. Add next nine ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until rice is tender, about 25 minutes.
Add shrimp and parsley; simmer, uncovered, for 7-10 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Yield: 8 servings.

BEIGNETS

1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sifted flour
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
Wesson oil for frying
Confectioners' sugar

In medium pan heat butter, sugar, salt and water to boiling. Remove pan from heat and add flour all at once; stir vigorously until ingredients are combined thoroughly and dough leaves sides of pan and forms a ball. Add vanilla, then eggs, one at a time, stirring vigorously. Dough should be smooth and glossy. In another pan, heat about 1 1/2 inches oil to 375 degrees on thermometer. Drop heaping teaspoons of dough into hot oil and fry beignets, a few at a time, until golden. (Each Beignet will puff up about 2 inches in diameter when done.) Drain on paper towels. Dust beignets heavily with confectioners' sugar. Serve warm. Yields about 50.

My Best Valentines Day Ever - February 14, 2002

I didn't know it at the time that it would turn out to be my best ever Valentines Day. All I knew that day was that I was tired and frustrated. I was disappointed and scared, all I knew on that day was that I thought it was the worst day ever. I felt so defeated and I was telling my sweet hubby how I'd had enough. I didn't want to try anymore to have another baby. I felt I didn't have it in me to go through more injections and fertility treatments. We had been discussing it for months and I just kept putting him off but I had agreed that I would take my temperature and keep an ovulation chart. The three months without any fertility treaments had rendered no results and I told him that February was our last chance. I knew and the Doctors had confirmed that there was no way I would get pregnant without any intervention and I just couldn't go through it any more. I truely felt at that point that if I wasn't pregnant by then that our one little angel would just have to be enough. So needless to say I was supposed to ovulate around Valentines but things weren't all chocolates and roses. Hubs had the flu he had been sick all week and my daughter had been sick as well, I was sleep deprived and irritable the last thing on my mind was trying (failing) at making another baby. So late that evening hubs in his fever induced state begs for one last chance before our window closed since we hadn't been very affectionate in the days leading up.. So I gave in, I just couldn't bare to tell him no, all the while knowing that there was now way this was going to turn into anything. Well how wrong I was!!! I found out 4 weeks later I was in fact pregnant with not just one baby but two. My two sweet, crazy little valentines! As you can imagine nothing has been able to top that since. So happy Valentines day to my little monsters who gave me the most memorable Valentine ever, without them my life wouldn't be the same!

My New RainBoots The Review

Well after much anticipation my new Rain Boots finally arrived. I am so impressed. They are getting quite the workout right now because it has been raining nonstop here. They are so cute not to mention they are very comfortable. The construction is very sturdy. The shaft is wide enough to tuck in your jeans with ease. I will say they are a everything I could have hoped for and more. I love them. I would recommend these to anyone. The whole buying process was very easy and rewarding. Being able to get something for myself (which doesn't happen very often) and give something back in return is very rewarding. And did I mention they are Ridiculously CUTE!!!

ADHD Treatment - The Natural Approach - My Own Experience

I want to start by saying, I am not a medical professional or a pharmacist or even a Vitamin and Supplement Guru. I am just a mom that is trying to make healthy decisions for my children. If anything I learn can be passed on I want to share it. It is very hard to have a child that is struggling and I know that there are many differening opinions on how to treat children with learning delays and behaviorial issues. This is my own experience. If you decide to change your childs regimin please check with your health care professional and do your research. We had to break away from our Doctor that just wanted to keep pushing meds on my son and I watched as my little boy was turning into someone I didn't recognize and I had finally had enough. A few years ago my little man was diagnosed with ADHD. At the time we decided that for his benefit we would try the medications that the doctor was recommending. After two years of having him switched from one medication to another we finally had enough. Many of his symptoms and behaviors had gotten worse and we were at a point where we had really tried almost everything. So after much research and thought we decided that we would try a more natural approach. We decided to give him Behavior Balance DMG he takes two capsules each morning and night and he also takes one teaspoon of Cod Liver Oil each morning.

The little man has been on his new regimen for three weeks now and I am so happy to report that he is doing amazing. Last Friday he came running in the house so excited he could barely speak. He made a 100 on his spelling test!! His first ever and then to top it off over the last few days he has brought many more papers, all A's and B's. He is so proud of himself and his confidence is going through the roof. This is a child that just a few weeks ago was making 60's and below. His Teacher has been sending me glowing reports about how much he has improved. So much so that she has been using him as a model student example. He is not experiencing a lot of the more erratic behavior that we were seeing when he was on the Concerta. His moods have leveled out and he is able to focus and now is able to be redirected with very little effort.
I know that each parent that has a child with these issues struggles continually with what the right thing to do for their child is. For us we have finally found our answer. This in itself is priceless.

Friday follow

It's that time if the week again today I will be participating in Friday Follow hosted by One 2 Try, Hearts Make Families, Midday Escapades

MckLinky Blog Hop

The Best Laid Plans

I had this week all planned out. I had already worked on several ideas for posts and thought I might actually make my goal of getting everything up ahead of time this week. Well, you know what they say "We plan and God laughs".
Monday I had a really bad reaction to a new medicine which I am no longer on but it took most of the week to get off of it and the Dr insisted I come in Wednesday to have an injection in my left eye to try to relieve the inflamation from the Trochleitis. It really wasn't that bad and it has helped some. I have a black eye and look like Quasimoto. But other than than I think I'm ok. I had a friend who had surgery Tuesday so I was trying to help her with her kids and then Wednesday another friends Husband was in an accident and was in the hospital. Luckily he is fine and now recovering at home, but this has been one of those weeks. I am so ready for things to calm down a little bit and hopefully if nothing else I can at least see enough to get some computer stuff done. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Monday Mom isms

I would label myself as somewhat of a creative parent. There have been many times over the years where I have resorted to psychological warfare with the kids especially when I am outnumbered. There are times when I have used my humor to cope. I find myself saying things to the kids at times that weren't exactly my moms run of the mill "Mom isms". Admit it we all do it at times, we live in a day and age of kids that are way smarter than us at times and there are just some instances when no matter what you say, you are loosing the argument and just have to find a way to end the conversation. I thought I would make a quick list of some the one I use most from my repertoire so for those days when your feel most defeated please feel free to use a little of my creative parenting if it will help
Please know that all of these are used with a light an sarcastic voice, I love my kids more that anything but I will be the first to tell anyone that I know them through and through for the manipulative little ankle biters they are. So now on to the list:

1. God himself, will not come down on his Golden Chariot and save you from me if you do not do what I have told you immediately..which is quickly respond by them with "Mom God has way better things to do than get his chariot out and come down here and deal with you.

2. So help me if you hit your sibling one more time I am going to be left no other choice that to pull your arms off and bludgeon you with them. Which is again responded with " Well if you do that then you'll be stuck bathing me putting my clothes on for the rest of my life.

3. Because I said so!! This one is sure to get them out of the way, quickly they realize at that point they have lost.

4. Dear God Baby Jesus, this is there Que that they have pushed me way to far and it is best for them to exit the room s soon as possible
.

OK so these are just the ones that I had on the top of my tongue. I would love to hear some of your top four or five that you find yourself using quite a bit. I would love to have you link up and share some of your most tried and true Mom Isms with us. I would love to hear what you have to say to your kids from time to time or what were some of your favorite Mom isms that your mom used on you.

My Birthday Present from Mom and Dad

I'll admit it I am hard to buy for. It's not so much that I am picky but there is really not much that I want and If I do I go out and get it myself. Needless to say this makes it really difficult for everyone to buy me gifts. This year my Mom and Dad got me a gift card with a warning, I had to spend it on myself well after a week I finally gave in and got something.

My Rain Boots

I desperately needed some, my yard is like a swamp and I am tired of having to wash my shoes all the time so after much searching I found my perfect gift. Aren't they cute and practical and they are for a good cause. By purchasing these boots from THE BREAST CANCER SITE not only do I get my pair, a pair is donated to Soles4Souls and my purchase helps to fund 3% of a mammogram for someone in need. So if you have time stop by their site and check it out. There are so many wonderful items there and they have some great sale items as well.

Thanks Mom and Dad for the perfect present. I love you guys much!!

A Wake up Story

I came across this video on facebook today and I thought I would share it with those of you who may not have seen it yet.

If you have time please check out this website as well. Healthy Child Healthy World I myself have started moving away from the more traditional. We recently took Baboo off of all of his ADHD meds and I put him on all natural supplements and I am very pleased to say he is doing very well. I received a wonderful report from his teacher yesterday. We have spent the last two years bouncing from one medication to the other with no success. I know that this is not for everyone, each child is different and each child responds differently to every treatment. But for Baboo, this is working, his ticks are gone, he's gaining weight again, he is focusing and doing very well.
With everything going on I am taking small steps to try to make our environment more healthy for all of us. There are so many things that we can't protect our children from and being able to at least control some of what they are exposed to at home gives me some peace of mind. My kids get upset because I usually make a home cooked meal at least 4 times a week and they just want frozen foods or to go get fast food. Now don't get me wrong, on occasion we definitely indulge. But buying actually fruits, vegetables and meat is actually cheaper than processed. I know that in this busy time it is not practical for everyone. I have found tons of wonderful recipes on line to make crock pot meals, $5 dinners, things that make life a little healthier and simpler. OK so I'm stepping down now. Please take a minute to review the video and pass it along to others if you'd like.

My Sunshine Award

Ok so first I have to say a big Thank You to Adrienne at 2KidsandaCat for giving me this award. I started this blog as a way of keeping of with life as I know it because lets all face it with all the brain cells we loose as Moms and never mind my chronic swiss cheese brain I have to write stuff down, and not on paper cause Lord knows I'll never remember where the heck I put it. So this is my way of keeping up with a lot of what goes on in the daily life. Trust me I have a lot more material but I would litteraly have to strap the laptop to me to write down all the crazy funny stuff the kids come up with.

In order to recieve this award I must do the following and you the same if you choose too
1) Put the logo within my blog or on my post
2) Pass the award onto 12 fellow bloggers
3) Link the nominees within my post
4) Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog
5) Share the love and link to the person whom you received this award from.

So I am now given the tasks of picking 12 other bloggers to bestow this award on.. Seriously, only 12, I read so many funny, great, yummy, and entertaining things everday that this will be hard. Anyway here is the shortlist of some of my favorites.

1. Loco YaYa's Snafud Life

Another Meltdown Monday

Well this is getting to be a habit. I am not normally a person that hates Mondays. Mondays are the day all the kids go back to school after a crazy weekend whats not to love about that? Well mine started out fairly simple except for the raging headache I've had for two weeks now, but anyway the twins had appointments with the eye doctor today, they have never had their eyes checked and I thought it would be a good idea. The little man has been struggling in school and it is suspected he is dyslexic on top of his learning delays and right now we have good insurance so I made the appointments and its always easier to do both at the same time than to make several trips. Anyway I pick them up from school and head to town and my stupid transmission starts acting up so of course that makes me crazy. We managed to get to the doctor and I find out that I am a horrible mother. Little R is fine but the little man needs glasses... badly his correction is +1.75 and +2.00 .. he is blind as a bat. I am hoping that this will help with some of the problems at school. I feel so guilty.
I am trying to get a hold of the crazy roller coaster ride I seem to be on, I am making my lists and marking things off as much as I can but each time I mark one thing off it seems like something else comes up. I know, I know .. When it rains it pours, but right now I could really use a bigger umbrealla and if adversity builds character, well I should have enough for all of us..lol
