The kids have been begging for Tater Tot casserole so I guess that what we will be having it for dinner tonight. They love it, its simple, its thrifty and best of all its Tasty! So I thought I would go ahead and post this recipe for y'all to share with your kids.
Now this recipe comes with a disclamer:
Warning this Tater Tot casserole that you are about to make is sure to be a hit with your kids so if you don't want it to be a repeat dish, don't fix it!
I hope you all enjoy it as much as we have.
TATER TOT CASSEROLE
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 bag tater tots
shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb of ground hamburger meat
serves: 6 or 7
Brown hamburger meat. Add cream of mushroom soup and stir together continuously.
Let simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
Place mixture in the bottom of a casserole dish. Lay tater tots neatly on top of the mixture.
Place in oven on 350' and let the tater tots brown.
Sprinkle with cheese; melt it in the oven
* I usually double this recipe because everyone always comes back for seconds.

I have actually already started drafting it. This one could take a while!
Yum! I've made one in a similar way with cream of celery soup, hamburger, green beans, and tater tots on top. It was one way to get my kids to eat veggies (hide the green beans). Yours sounds better with cream of mushroom and cheese. Again, yum!
My husband would kill for this, he is always asking me to make tator tot hotdish, I guess this is a sign! :)

Tater tot casserole. If I made it, the kids would never get it..I LOVE tater tots. Now I want one!

LOL, I remember this recipe well. When my kids were younger, I was the "mean" mommy because the only way my kids would get Tater Tot Casserole was if they ate over a friend's house. I'd make it for them in a heartbeat now!!! Have you ever "met" Marjie of the Modern Day Ozzie & Harriet blog. She has nine kids, a GREAT blog and would LOVE this recipe!
